Fluffy Sheep and Scruffy Sheep, the two characters of Not All Sheep Need Shearing

Hello and welcome!
We're Suz and Sam.

We're the humans behind this operation.
(But we get a lot of help from the animals, too.)

About the Author

Suz Baldwin

Hi! I've been writing and editing for way, way longer than I'd like to admit. I've always had a soft spot for fun stories featuring unusual animals, probably largely thanks to my childhood cartoon habits.

I am at this point almost entirely fueled by coffee, and when I'm not messing around with words, I'm usually reading or keeping my very adventurous cockatiel out of trouble.

About the Illustrator

Sam Rapp

Hello! I've been illustrating children’s books since 2019. I love drawing whimsical illustrations inspired by curious animals and the beauty of nature, with the hope of encouraging young readers to explore the world around us and discover something new.

When I'm not drawing, I enjoy spending time with my family and cats, traveling the world, and exploring the underwater world through scuba diving!

The Adventure Begins!

This Series Is Just Getting Started!

Not All Sloths Are Slow releases on July 17, 2026. Young readers and their parents (and anyone who loves sloths!) will have a great time hanging out with Speedy Sloth, Slow Sloth, and their friends in the rainforest. And that’s just the beginning.

Later books in the series will introduce explorers to fascinating animals from all over the world. They’ll have good times, good rhymes (ha!), and beautiful illustrations that will keep their imaginations working long after the stories are finished.

Books That Give Back

The animals in our books aren’t just characters — they’re real creatures with real homes worth protecting. As the series grows, we hope to partner with conservation organizations dedicated to each featured animal and donate a portion of book proceeds to support their important work.

We’re still working on it, so keep an eye out. More exciting news is just over the horizon!
